The Village of Waunakee is now accepting applications for board, commission, and committee appointments that are either currently vacant or will be expiring in April. Clean Lakes Alliance
The Village continues to support the efforts of the Clean Lakes Alliance, which aims to reduce phosphorus levels in our nearby lakes. Phosphorus contributes to lake algae which has environmental impacts on the ecology of our lakes. Please take some time to learn more about the health and status of our lakes by watching the 2017 State of the Lakes video found here.
If you want to learn more about how leaves and other yard waste contribute to phosphorus levels in our lakes, and how you can do your part to help in the cause there is a short video that can be accessed here. The Clean Lakes alliance also makes available a paper guide to help residents learn more about strategies they can use to positively impact the watershed and our lakes. These strategies can be found by clicking here.
Finally, if you are interested in getting timely status updates on the condition of our lakes, the Clean Lakes Alliance provides updates on their YouTube channel with the most recent update on June 1st, 2018 found here.
If you are interested in learning more about the Clean Lakes Alliance and the great work they are doing to help keep our watershed and lakes clean, you can visit their website at https://cleanlakesalliance.org/. If you would like more information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Adam Bentley, Assistant Village Administrator at abentley@waunakee.com or at 608-850-2182.
