    To celebrate all of the creativity that exists within our Village, Waunakee will be hosting it's first WRAP Workshop and Exhibition in the Spring of 2021! The Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP), which will be celebrating it's 81st year, encourages nonprofessional, student, and emerging artists to create and exhibit their work across Wisconsin.   2. Tri 4 Schools Family Trail Run

    May 15, 2021, All Day @ Ripp Park

    The Village Center is excited to continue our partnership with Tri 4 Schools for the 10th year to offer a running event for children and their families! It will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Ripp Park. Every dollar raised through this event will be distributed to schools represented by the participants to be used to support health and wellness initiatives at the schools. The event will follow all health and safety guidelines to provide a fun, safe opportunity for families to be active. Various distances of in-person and at-home race routes will be offered.   4. Waunakee WRAP Workshop with Muralist Emily Balsley

    Community members ages 14+ can join us at the Waunakee Public Library on Saturday, May 15, 2021 for an educational and hands-on workshop as part of Waunakee’s first ever year participating in the Wisconsin Regional Art Program! Join Emily Balsley, Madison-based illustrator, and mural artist as she walks you through the steps of painting your first mural. From finding the right space, to tools & supplies, to navigating transfer methods, and learning some tips & tricks, Emily will cover it all in this comprehensive workshop. Participants will have an opportunity to help Emily paint a custom mural designed specifically for the Village of Waunakee! A virtual workshop option is available as well. The workshop will be live streamed via zoom and virtual participants will receive a kit with workshop items.   5. Brush Pick-Up Week

    May 17, 2021, All Day

    Place brush on the terrace by 7:00 a.m. with the cut ends toward the road. Please leave branches as long as possible as this will save you and our crews' time. Brush is considered limbs and branches from trees and large shrubs. All other woody vegetation such as plant stalks, small bush trimmings, etc. will not be collected. This type of material can be taken to the compost site on Highway Q. south of the Village. If you have a contractor trim or prune your trees or bushes, they are responsible for the removal of the brush. Collection begins Monday and is completed within the week when Public Works has gone through the entire Village.

  7. Soap Making Workshop at Schumacher Farm

    May 22, 2021 - May 23, 2021 @ Schumacher Farm Park

    Join us at the farm to learn the old time craft of soap making the natural process way. This workshop will take about two hours to complete. Each person will be assigned a specific soap recipe and each batch will be shared and traded with all other soaps made. Limited space, registration required.

  8. Waunakee Bike Rodeo

    May 22, 2021, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Village Center

    The Bike Rodeo designed to promote safe riding habits and skills for younger riders. Participants are typically elementary to intermediate school age (5-12). Participants will ride their bike through a series of courses that help them to develop skills to avoid typical crashes as well as learning to watch their surroundings for traffic, other riders, road hazards etc. All participants are given a checklist and if completed they enter a drawing and win a prize! Prizes bought and paid for by the Waunakee Police Department. Prizes include: Helmets, locks, lights and other bike related items. The Bike Rodeo is a great way for officers to interact in a positive way with the youth of our community. Sponsored in part with Dream Bikes, Waunakee Police Dept. and Waunakee Neighborhood Connection.
